About this vintage design furniture

Mid-Century Modern Dutch Lotus armchair by Parry, 1960s the Netherlands for Gelderland De Ster. Elegant, high back and Scandinavian style armchair, frame in solid teak with new cushion. The cushion is completely new and upholstered in a black Move (by De Ploeg) furniture fabric. New webbing under the seating, the original solid teak frame is all in very good condition. The founder of Gelderland De Ster, Koene Oberman, was very much charmed by the Scandinavian modernists in that time, such as Wegner, Ditzel, Juhl, Kristiansen. With rob Parry as a true industrial and creative designer he positioned ‘Gelderland De Ster’ as s ‘new’ modern brand, by creating contemporary designs with the same ‘transparency’, quality and attention for construction as his Nordic peers.
