Jacques Blin (1920-1995) After studying aeronautical engineering, Jacques Blin worked in this branch for several years as a draughtsman; attracted by the plastic arts, he approached ceramics, then devoted himself entirely to it from 1948-1949. In 1954, he set up a workshop in Paris and exhibited at the Maison de la Chimie and at the Salon des Céramistes et métiers d'art. His moulded pieces with speckled enamel and engraved decorations of birds and primitive animals were immediately very successful. For twenty years he was president of the Chambre Syndicale des céramistes et Ateliers d'art, whose Salon des ateliers d'art de France he effectively promoted both in France and abroad. Finally, he was appointed vice-president of the International Academy of Ceramics, based in Geneva.
