About this vintage design furniture
A pair of pendant lights in brushed aluminum constructed from 6 different sized metal discs. The 4 centre ones are brushed silver aluminium and the top and bottom discs are black matte lacquer. All discs have orange insides to reflect a warm shine down or upwards the the next disc creating a glowing light effect. They give a slight light projection downwards but are mainly for decorative purpose. By Carl Thore for Granhaga Metallindustri in the 1960s. One of his rarer designs. The real name of the designer known as Carl Thore was Sigurd Lindkvist, and he was born in 1916 in Åmal in Sweden’s Dalsland. After working for a lighting firm called Luko, in 1961 Lindkvist joined Granhaga Metallindustri, for whom he designed lights and was also head of sales, remaining with the company until he retired in around 1981. Good vintage condition with only slight signs of use. They take standard E27 light bulbs.
