About this vintage design furniture

Jacques BLIN Ball vase with cylindrical neck in ochre and brown glazed ceramic. Signed "J Blin". In very good condition, no chips or cracks. Jacques Blin was born in France in 1920. He obtained a degree in aeronautical engineering but chose instead to turn his passion into a profession. In 1954, he opened his first ceramic creation workshop. That same year, we find him at the Salon des Céramistes et des Métiers d'Art and at the Maison de la Chimie. As an artist very committed to the defence of his art, he became vice-president of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva. He was also President of the Chambre syndicale des Céramistes et Ateliers d'Art de France for twenty years.
