About this vintage design furniture

Sorø Stolefabrik AS has beenfounded in 1904 in Danish city Sorø. The city Sorø is located on the E20, which is the main connection between Jutland and Copenhagen. The fabrik worked with several well known designers like Erling Torvits who choose for quality and craftmanship in stead of massa production. Their main export markets were Japan, Sweden and England. This set of teak framed chairs with leatherett seating is in very good condition and an example of quality and rare design of Torvits.

Erling Torvits was a Danish industrial designer born in 1931 and died in 1989. He studied sculpture and ceramics at the Copenhagen School of Fine Arts, before turning to industrial design.
