About this vintage design furniture
An extremely hard to find museum quality sideboard designed by Robin Day manufactured by Hille, London in the mid to late 50’s. Very conspicuous inky black Vitrolite sliding doors produced by the leading industrial glass manufacturer of the mid Twentieth Century Pilkington Glass. The brass handles inset within the glass provide a wonderful contrast of materials. The carcass is produced from solid Mahogany with the unit standing on cylindrical steel legs. Inside is a height adjustable shelf to the right with four solid Mahogany drawers to the left. The condition is excellent, the carcass has been professionally re-polished to a very high standard. The glass doors are in wonderful condition, no chips, no scratches. There is a small hole to the rear board. This design is intended to be placed against a wall so this should be of little consequence. In our opinion one of the most beautiful Mid Century sideboard designs.
