About this vintage design furniture
This 1950s floor lamp, a renaissance mathieu work for the lunel house, is in excellent condition. Its circular, solid and stable foot holds 3 brass rods, joined by a black plexiglass tablet forming a palette of paint (height on the ground 72cm). The branching ends with 2 lights, with offal - day ( h25.5cm) in white opaline and 2 rods decorated with transparent plexiglass. About the designer
René MATHIEU
René Mathieu was a French designer born in Nancy in 1905 and died in 1969. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy before moving to Paris to work as a theater decorator. He also worked for Galeries Lafayette, where he was responsible for creating window displays and exhibition stands.
